چکیده

The extended radio source G16.2−2.7 is detected as a new previously uncataloged Galactic supernova remnant. Its non-thermal radio spectrum has spectral index α = −0.51, with Sν(1GHz) = 2.08 Jy, as being measured with the RATAN-600 radio telescope. The NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) map at 1.4 GHz shows a shelllike bilateral structure. The similar smoothed image from the Effelsberg survey at 2.7 GHz is discussed. The angular diameter 17 of a circular shell is fitted to brightness peaks meanwhile the outer diameter Dmax = 18. 4 and the width ∆R=1 are fitted with the model of a spherical optically thin hollow shell. The surface brightness of G16.2−2.7: Σ(1GHz)= (1 ± 0.1)10WHzmsr. The peaks in the shell arcs are highly polarized at 1.4 GHz.

High resolution radio observations of the composite supernova remnant (SNR) G326.3−1.8 or MSH 15-56 with the Australia Telescope Compact Array show details of both the shell and the bright plerion which is offset about 1/3 of the distance from the center of the SNR to the shell. The shell appears to be composed of thin filaments, typical of older shell SNRs. The central part of the elongated pl...

G315.4−2.3 is an extended shell supernova remnant (SNR) with some characteristics of evolutionarily young remnants and some of older ones. To further elucidate some of its characteristics, we present imaging and polarimetry of this SNR at a frequency of 1.34 GHz with a resolution of 8 arcsec made with the Australia Telescope Compact Array. The indicators of youth are: Morphologically, the radio...

A multiwavelength study of the remnant of nova GK Persei

We present new observations of the nebular remnant of the old nova GK Persei 1901, in the optical using the Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT) and at low radio frequencies using the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). The previous such study was by Seaquist et al (1989, hereafter S89). The dimensions of the shell in the optical emission lines of [NII], [OIII] and [OII] are 108×94 arcsec, 104...

Discovery of A New Faint Radio SNR G 108 . 2 - 0 . 6

A new faint and large shell-type radio Supernova Remnant (SNR) G108.2−0.6 has been discovered in the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey (CGPS). The SNR shows an elliptical shell-type structure at 1420 MHz, and has a 408-1420 MHz TT-plot spectral index of α=-0.5±0.1 (Sν∝ν ), typical of a shell-type SNR. The remnant’s flux density at 1420 MHz is 6.6±0.7 Jy, and at 408 MHz is 11.5±1.2 Jy. Both of thes...

X-ray emission from the galactic center region supernova remnant G0.9+0.1

We report the results of a BeppoSAX observation of the composite supernova remnant G0.9+0.1, located in the Galactic Center region. This new observation, in which the core of G0.9+0.1 is observed on–axis, confirms our previous results obtained from a pointing in which the supernova remnant was serendipitously observed at a large off–axis angle. The better quality of the new data allows us to co...
